Zoya Akhtar’s short film based on a real life kid

The short film in 'Bombay Talkies' by Zoya Akhtar is about a school boy who is obsessed with Katrina Kaif and her dancing skills. He is a great fan of hers and dances his heart out on the song, 'Sheila Ki Jawaani'.
Not many know that Zoya had met this boy a few years ago at a social gathering. When the opportunity to direct Bombay Talkies came up, this was the only story she thought of presenting.Says a source close to Zoya, “It was an incident which touched Zoya’s heart. She carried it with herself for more than two years and when she was approached to direct a short film, she thought this story would be ideal. It’s a story she wanted to share with the audience.” Apparently child actor Naman Jain who played Jhangiya in the film Chillar Party is essaying the role of the boy.
